then proceeds to ridicule the "ridiculers," stereotype them, and declare they are only fit for destruction!.

I heard the whole speech and what's worse.... agreed wholeheartedly with it. My feelings exactly about the state of morality nowadays.
The vast majority of Millennials, etc., say stuff like "what is morality?", "what is right/wrong?"

The WTBTS is rich, no doubt. Reason why whenever they say at the assemblies that there's some sort of deficit, I do not contribute one more red cent than what's reasonable.
Same for KH contributions. I calculate # of publishers and monthly expenses, then contribute just enough to cover the bills if all pubs contributed the same amount.
They'll start practicing what the scriptures teach in terms of greed and being content with having basic needs covered.

so i've been thinking a lot about why i stayed a jw for so long even though i had always had doubts about the doctrines.
i was born into the religion, left and came back as an adult for another decade.
some of the things that come to mind (besides the threat of shunning-and this isn't to minimize that very real threat) was:.
Family, friends, being used to the JW lifestyle. Also, accentuating the 'good' which far outweighs the 'conflictive'.
At this rather late stage in life, it's of most benefit for me to just ride it out than if I just jump ship.
It's quite complicated.

i just felt "stuck in a rut too" along with so many others.
I'm a doubtful JW, still a JW nonetheless.

i was standing at a red light and i noticed the little cart standing there.
they're barely noticeable and when i continued there was apparently someone on the other side of the street too.
the only problem, the location is a very busy intersection which has virtually no foot traffic and they're hard to see to begin with, as you can see from my vantage point i couldn't even read the cart and three people next to them on this side and two of them on the other side.. .
I despise that form of preaching!

i was born in but long time faded.
i think i hold current jws to a higher standard than they now maintain.. here's the thing; my father is very old, in his nineties and been a jdub for over 60 years and even made it to elder till he got too old.on a recent visit my siblings and dad were saying how wonderful that veterans affairs were.
Fool is the one who served, JW or otherwise, and does not claim the benefits.
I served and was discharged honorably; so, I plan to retire early and claim medical benefits until such time that Medicare kicks in, then I shall continue to claim any services not covered by Medicare.

at 32yo i wondered in a church of england parish hall with no idea what i was doing.
everyone else knew how to do it.

I will never be able to shake that. This is one of the many reasons I really cannot fully leave this religious Org. My indoctrination runs so deep that even if I disagree with a few things, there are soooo many more things that I do agree with until my dying day.
